"Little Kraut Hosts Famed Wine Expert"

"There's nothing small about the Little Kraut when it comes to wine tasting."

"Last week Red Bank resident and restaurant owner Dieter Bornemann played host to Nikolaus Wegeler-Deinhard, Jr., owner of Germany's largest privately owned vineyard, Deinhard & Co., Koblenz, founded in 1794.  The winery, renowned for its champagnes and wines, is maker of the world-famous Dersndkasteler Doktor - a $700 bottle was on hand for the special wine tasting event, expertly run by Mr. Wegeler-Deinhard himself."

""This (Little Kraut) is a famous German restaurant," said Mr. Bornemann, "Mr. Wegeler-Deinhard asked to have dinner here, he thought it would be nice...there's certainly a lot of restaurants in New York City, and in between, and he wanted to dine here at Little Kraut."

"Little Kraut 'imports' authentic German fare"

"Charmingly adorned and carefully staffed to create its own Alpine aura in the center of Red Bank.  The Little Kraut brings a tasteful touch of Old Germany to the Jersey Shore."

"At least until cold weather sets in, sometime after the Oktoberfest, owner-master chef Dieter Bornemann's kitchen services two distinct settings - an intimate dining room indoors with superb continental cuisine and an outdoor beer garden featuring half a dozen German specialties."

"..frogs legs provencale, the best I've had in this country."

"Bornemann, a graduate of the Master Chef's Institute of Bern, Switzerland, and a member of the exclusive Culinary Association of Geneva, lectures on how to prepare goose and duck.  Naturally, these are among 19 specialties on a menu that includes six veal dishes and two or three fish in season."

"The Little Kraut is busy because meals are excellently prepared and impeccably served by helpful, amiable waiters and waitresses."   "The Little Kraut is highly recommended."

"Of six patrons at a nearby table, four had ordered the two-and-half-pound roast goose with apple stuffing, red cabbage and dumpling and obviously were enjoying it."
